For shoppers, Dubai is all about Deira, the old neighborhood along the creek. The Gold Souk, the streets around Naif, and the neighborhood’s wholesalers have long attracted buyers from Africa. Further away, Dragon Mart is home to hundreds of shops selling products imported from Asia, ranging from furniture to electronics. When to Go: Weather vs. Prices: In Dubai, the season matters just as much as the ticket price. From November through March, temperatures are pleasant, making this the best time to visit—but also the busiest. The Dubai Shopping Festival, held every winter around December and January, attracts both tourists and shoppers thanks to in-store promotions. From June through September, temperatures often exceed 40 °C: you’ll spend most of your time between air-conditioned shopping malls and your hotel, but accommodation prices drop significantly. Dubai Visa: What to Do Before You Leave: Travelers who are Cameroonian nationals need a visa to enter the United Arab Emirates, and visas are not issued upon arrival. The application must be submitted before departure through an agency based in the UAE.
